Thanks for setting me straight on that. My footage is DVCPROHD. Also, I’m an audio guy and a full time musician. I had a four camera crew shoot this and I am editing it myself. I wanted to pick the shots to use. Anyhow, I have a lot to learn but I’ve edited a 90 minute concert and had a guy do some color correction.

I figured the TV was part of the problem, but I also thought that if I get the absolute best encoder to output the movie, then maybe the picture would improve some on my TV. Am I totally wrong about that?

Some have suggested CBR instead of VBR. Any thoughts about that?

    Thanks again!

OK, I’m getting ready to export. I’m on CS5, Premier Pro. Does anyone know what GOP settings are? The options are M frames and N frames.

    Thanks

    TimK:

    Thanks for the input.

Wisconsin? I grew up in Northern Minnesota where the men are men and the women are too! I live in Tn so the Titans are my adopted football team but I am a fair weather fan. Only in the playoffs. I played hockey from when I was a kid all through high school. I managed to keep all my teeth though. I am more likely to go to a predators game than the Titans.

Thanks again for the info on the video. I’ll keep you posted on how I do today.

    Later

Hey TimK: I am awaiting your reply to the following.

    Thanks for the reply.

    1) The video was shot DVCProHD.

    2) I can try your suggestions. However, have you ever deinterlaced footage as you suggested and what were the results?

BTW: Are you in Minnesota. I’m in Tn but raised in Minnesota. Northern Minnesota.

I’m not using PAL. NTSC is what I am exporting for. Thanks for the info on the formula. I will be applying all the suggestions later today. I’ll keep you posted.

However, no one has yet recommended another Codec other than trying to use what Adobe has to offer. Any other codecs? Thoughts?

How did you arrive at 6.7? I’ll try that but I’d like to understand more. Did that come from a bitrate calculator? Which one?

    Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I don’t have Premier Elements 4 but Premier Elements 2010 or some version that’s later than the one you mentioned. Why is it that Premier Pro won’t do as good a job? Do you have any other suggestions?

    Thanks
