If your in windows and can’t see the file extension (VOB/MPEG etc) you need to first show known file types.
Inside your folder go to tools… folder options. Then click the view tab. In advanced settings UNclick the “hide extensions for known file types”.
You should see your .VOB extension. The right click on your VOB file and click rename. Then in the box delete .VOB and replace with .MPG
if your on a mac, there’s no right click… you just click on it once and change .VOB to .MPG.

Well that’s a little more information to allow us to help you.
You can copy the VOB files off the DVD and rename them to MPEG. Then download and use the VLC media player to export/extrac the audio into wav and then line up the clips.
You can also see this tread for more information and a helpful link.

You need to ask the station what’s best and also see if you can talk to an engineer to have them explain to you how they’re decks & broadcast actually broadcast HD. If they can’t tell you what’s best, I’d side on caution and dub to 1080i. I’d also take the extra step of doing it from a 1080i project. But if that’s to hard on your system for any reason, the HDCAM’s recording should do the interlacing for you and still look great.

If your movie is so short, you should go with CBR instead of variable. Set your rate at 7. 4 is a very low bit rate and having it go through VBR will create lots of artifacts on dissolves.
Also try progressive scan output for your LCD.
