  • Trust in CS4 presets?

Just upgraded from PPro 1.5 to CS4 and finally getting comfortable with using the AME presets rather than “rolling my own” like i was able to do in 1.5
The stuff looks ok I guess ( target is Vimeo, etc)but there’s a lot of chatter on the ‘net that the encoder Adobe uses isn’t the best…
Any truth to this or is this ancient history? Not always clear how current the information on the ‘net is…

AME is mostly Main Concept and is fine but not the best. Main Concept sells a plug-in for Premiere (CS3) for $499. One can spend up to several thousand $ for software encoders and much more for hardware encoders.

If your going to vimeo, its fine though!

Check out this blog for presets you can download for CS4 for exporting to Vimeo.
