Yeah definitely, thanks for the reply!

I know other effects must be a little more quantifiable though, such as curves vs exposure. I’m sure exposure is far more efficient. But as for levels, it’s hard to tell.

I’ve been working with 4-5k outputs for multiple screens on large scale projecting mapping projects. It would be nice to save some cpu cycles!

Maybe I’ll just do some tests of my own, contribute to the community, ya know?

    Thanks!

  • Hey!
Yeah i’d super appreciate that. When the particles hit the falloff they just sort of halt and lurch around even if I increase the rotational speed. V01 is the way I was approaching it, and V02 is my attempt with the falloff.

  • Hey Nik!
Love your work and really appreciate the reply! My CD is using this as design reference for wind. Getting it to work right is a little tricky. I started with xpart, but TP seems more reliable. I’m animating the rotators position to the particles to adjust the angles and get them to swirl. But getting two groups to go straight then split is a bit tricky! Any tips would be helpful!

Left of your view port there are about 10 icons, it’s the one that’s a cube with two dots on it. You can also go to Tools>Modes>Points. At any point you can right click on something to open the help file. This help file is the best help file of any program i’ve ever used. Seriously, live by it!

    Thanks!
For R15 users: select the spline, switch to point editing mode, right click on the viewer and choose “Reverse Sequence”, then left click on the scene to update the viewer.

I was having the same problem with an illustrator file shaking in after effects. I followed the link Dave posted and it says you can change the antialiasing setting to more accurate rather than fast. when i did change it to more accurate my wiggle / jiggle / shake problem disappeared. But it does take a lot longer to render.
