Here is an update on my download issue for VASST’s FASST APPS. The issue is probably buried in this forum now, but basically, last weekend, I and others were not getting the serial numbers from VASST’s computers for the two free apps VASST was offering. In my case, I altered John Rofrano of the issue and assured him the email was not going to my junk/spam folder. Within a day, I was advised they had found the issue on their in and was working to fix it. They must have worked on it all night, because at 1:30 am on Tuesday, I received the serial numbers in an email and my account information on VASST’s site was updated with the serial numbers.

Good customer service only makes up one part of a company. The products they sell makes up the other part. I now own eight FASST APPS: Audit Assistant, Cinema Look Vol 1, Event Tool, Marker Editor, Property Assistant, Still Motion, Title Strip 1, and Voice Assistant. I haven’t worked with all of these apps yet, mostly Still Motion and Property Assistant on a large photo montage I’m currently have going. I am using Vegas 11 with them.

Still Motion and Property Assistant is all they say it is. With Still Motion, I drop the photos on the timeline, select my options and hit the Apply Still Motion green button. I use to spend hours selecting transitions and messing with the pan/zoom on each photo. Not anymore. Still Motion can arrange your photos randomly on the timeline, use all your transitions in Vegas or can limit the transitions and pan/zoom options to a few you like. Prior to using Still Motion, I was using Photodex which took a lot of time. Then if I made a mistake, I’d have to go back into Photodex, fix the mistake, re-render the file, and start over in Vegas. With Still Motion you can fix a mistake, make adjustments to individual photos, insert photos between events, and apply selected options to your events in several ways on the timeline.

And did I mention that Still Motion works with video as well. I had several small video clips I was putting together. I used Still Motion to apply the transitions and boom it was done. Everything was perfect.

I am finding Property Assistant is a real time saver as well. I have only used it to turn off the Maintain Aspect Ratio on all my photos and to normalize the audio tracks. Now with Property Assistant, I select the events (photos) I want to apply the options to, hit the Apply Property Assistant green button, and I am done. Along this same line, I hope that VASST will come out with an app to deal with the annoying Group option features in Vegas.

Don’t hesitate to buy the apps. They are reasonably priced and right now you can purchase them at a discount from VASST.com or Sony Creative Software. They work and the company will respond to your concerns/questions. And the other good thing I found about FASST APPS. They don’t crash my version of Vegas like so many other apps I have tried.

In closing, I’d like to thank John Rofrano and the support staff at VASST for their prompt attention to the problem mentioned. FASST APPS has made using Vegas a lot less painful.

Thanks John and to the staff at VASST. I got my shopping list ready to go. It tried first the two free downloads, but something is haywired on the site or my end. I received the purchase receipts, but no downloads came through. I emailed VASST support. Will deal with it on Monday. Thanks again.

    John,

What got my “goat” was the fact I have never seen a company offer a benefit to a select group of people when others are capable of benefiting from the same offer. In other words, my version of Vegas (11) is capable of running Fasst apps just as well as Vegas 12. I could understand if you developed Fasst apps to work only in Vegas 12 or came as part of the initial purchase of Vegas 12; but not afterwards. And if Sony marketing folks think that offering two free apps and 10% discount on other Fasst Apps is enough to get me to upgrade, God they need help. But, I will tell you what caught my interest in upgrading is your statement that Vegas 12 is stable.

I normally upgraded every year. I decided to skip this year because the upgrade to 11 was a nightmare with all its problems and NewBlueFX Titler Pro’s problems. Even to this day, with the latest update, Vegas 11 still continues to crash. I preform one task and save. Perform another task and save….and on and on.

I know that all video editing programs crash. I have friends with MAC’s and they tell me they crash too. I know computer hardware can be the root cause of crashes too; but, I am not editing on any weak system. I don’t mind saving my work, but not after every task I perform. I need confidence the system is stable
    .
So now that you got my interest in Vegas 12 (more than what Sony marketing ever did), can I trust that I can get some work done in Vegas 12 and not constantly be worried about it crashing? Sony has put another offer out to upgrade for around $139.00.

In closing, thank you for responding to my “rant” and for all you do for Sony Vegas users. I know it takes a lot of time to answer questions, but it is appreciated. And I do plan to support Fasst applications even if I don’t get a couple for free apps. ..LOL

John, you seem to have created some really killer apps for Vegas with FASST Apps. I just got the promotional offer from Sony for the two free apps and 10% off for this month. What a deal…if you have Vegas 12! Is Sony punishing us 11 users because we didn’t upgrade to 12. Makes no sense to me why Sony marketing would not extend the offer to all the Vegas users. The rush to purchase is gone.
