    So Tom,

IF Your theory (or fact), is correct all I need is a straight RS-422 cable male to male 9 pin….

It will be here next week.

I will post my results. !

    Thanks for all the input!!!

    Hi John,

Thank you for your detailed response.

The J-H3 does have a remote input with 9 pin above a

RS232c connector at the bottom lower right as you face the rear of the deck.

I’ve had suggestions from LTC/VITC and having gone through every software panel option, I think we are left with the cable being the final option .

If this does not work… I will let everyone else know…

    Thanks!

    Shane,

I went through about 7 hours of looking at every software option, clearing Pram etc. After another hour with Steve of Aja Support, we can only conclude that it tis the cable. I’ve bought 2 new ones with new 422/232 adapters. If this does not work, then I’m back to square one. I’ll keep this forum posted on the progress.
    Thanks for you concern,

    Yo Shane,

    Hope you are well. !

The newest cable is doing the best job. I have 3 here now. After I installed it, the Time Code appeared in the AJA Control Panel. So we are making progress… slowly.

My question is since the control panel sees the TC and the Log & Capture window are showing the video, then.. ? Why no communication?

July 10, 2013 at 2:43 pm in reply to: New Teleprompter Software Recommendations?

I just bought the Prompter People 17″ Flex. This is a very good piece of hardware, but coupled with GARBAGE software. I am furious that any company would produce crap like that. I even upgraded to the Full edition paying $100 extra. Total WASTE of money.

I purchased Presentation Prompter by Ripeware LLC and am so happy it is not even funny. The first time I used it, it installed simply. I was able to control the speed simply. The text looked good. The thing was that it was SIMPLE and IT WORKED. first time – no hassle. I’ll have more comments and a much more detailed review coming up. This whole process over the last 2 weeks has motivated me to get my website up and put up reviews of the hundreds of 1000’s of dollars $$$$ worth of both Good and Bad stuff I use on a daily basis.

Disclaimer: I am not associated in any way nor compensated in any manner by either company.

December 17, 2012 at 12:05 pm in reply to: Frequent Changes in Logging bins

    Thanks Jaap,

I went back and looked at the projects where I was having trouble and realized I had not created bins in several of those project tabs. It is funny because one or more of them have no bin but will still work fine, but I guess after some unknown number they begin to act funky and will not highlight. Once I added the bin to the project tab (on those which did not have one) the issue was immediately solved.

    Thanks Again!

December 16, 2012 at 8:34 pm in reply to: Deinterlacing issue with full HD

    Julienne,

Unless I need to create a specific progressive frame -like for a still image- I never ever worry about deinterlacing footage. If you shoot it 1080i don’t mess with it. The interlacing deals with motion far better than most of the progressive cameras, unless higher frame rates are being used during the shoot.

    Good Luck,

    Tim
