I think that factions at Apple are really struggling with the “pro” market at this point. (and it is a small market to be sure.) There is no doubt for me that it is not their primary focus. I have had numerous debates with good and knowledgable folks on this forum who disagree with me on this point but I do believe that one of the principal reasons Apple got to to where it is today (the first – second? – most profitable company in the world?) was in large part from basking in the glow of “Hollywood.” Since 2004 or so Apple has found other and far more lucrative avenues of profitability. But I do do believe that someone, somewhere in Cupertino has realized that they have, at the very least, taken a PR hit over the past year. However, from the response I’ve seen I don’t think there are a lot of people in that room.

I see those “Adobe People” all the time on the east end of Washington Square. And then there’s the “FCP 7 project” on the north side – I hear they are over. Avid hangs out on the south side and while I hear they don’t have a lot of ammo left they do have some pretty big guns. The Vegas people seem to hang out on Tompkins Square. FCP X? Financial District.

Clearly you are not a writer. But I will pose you a different question: How much energy does it take to follow a ball? It is a burst of energy to be sure. But what it also requires is focus. From production assistant all the way to the upper echelons of show business this is a profession that requires commitment and focus. Fixing an automobile of any sort or any era would be a lark for me. I always try to be careful in criticizing what other people do. Because I might be doing it tomorrow. Glad you’re having fun.

I think it’s the “or not” part coming into play.

I never really understood that either. And the “no more clip collisions” comment got one of the biggest rounds of applause at the Supermeet two years ago.

It’s really not a bin but a space to organize bins you have open. I used it years ago. Not really even sure it still exists.

    Isn’t that always what’s next?

Yes but I will surreptitiously hide on either side just to get any insight whatever what might win out in our marketplace of ideas.

    I’m in. On either side.
