Believe me we considered it but we opted for the larger sensor.
We are also configuring the BMCC based on an article from Marco Solorio using ENG lenses.
So far very promising but have run into a couple of problems that you will see in my new thread.
We will be shooting a live concert of a comedians stand-up and music parodies using 5 BMCC. 3 on sticks, 1 on a jib and 1 hand-held (wireless). We will record on each camera and feed video via SDI to the Ronins as backups located in an iso room off stage where our director will be calling shots. It will not be a live switched event but he will be calling shots as if it were. We will also have an assistant with him monitoring the Ronins as we want the camera operators focused on their moves and not having to monitor a second device. Everything will then be produced in post. Make sense??
Hi Matthew.
Thanks for the reply and so sorry for just now responding.
The reason for the Ronin or any external recording device in our application is strictly for redundancy.
Tim
Thank you so much John!
Once I created a test DVD it didn’t seem to be really noticeable.
Also thanks for all you do on and for this forum. I’ve really learned a lot from you.
