You can use a mask shape as a motion path. Select the Mask Shape property, Edit > Copy, then select the Position property and Edit > Paste. Works in reverse, as well.
You can’t directly link the path and the mask, though. If you make changes to one, copy and paste to the other.

Yeah, it’s broken. If you don’t put menus in the project, you don’t get any chapters on the DVD, even if you put chapter markers on the timeline.

It sounds like the primary (=1) highlight color for your menu is blue. You can have up to three highlight colors, or you can just not highlight the buttons at all. (I wouldn’t recommend going without highlights. At the very least you should have something light up to tell the user what button they’re on, such as a dot next to the buttons or a ring around them.)
Best way to fix this is to edit the menu in Photoshop and reassign the highlight layers for the buttons to be the different colors- (=1), (=2), and (=3). You can either edit the colors of those layers in Photoshop, or you can reassign the colors once you have the menu back in Encore.

Loop points only apply once you’re in the menu. When you link to the menu from another menu or timeline, you can only enter that menu from the beginning. This is a limitation in the DVD spec.
The workaround is to take the beginning segment of your animation that you don’t want to loop, and cut it off into a separate timeline. Set that as First Play, and link it’s end action to the main menu, which only contains the looping segment. Make links from other menus directly to the main menu (unless you want them to play the intro segment, in which case link them to that).
The downside to this is that some DVD players may show a slight delay during the transition from the timeline to the menu. Most newer (3-4 years old) players won’t show more than a slight hiccup.

You can do this by writing an Action, then using a Batch Process to convert all your files at once. Read up about Actions and Batching in the help files/manual. If you have questions after that, post back, and we’ll see how we can help.

There’s many ways to do this, via a selection or matte, but the easiest way is to create a clipping mask:
1. Put your dollar bill layer directly above the text layer.
2. In the Layers palette, hold down the ALT key on Windows or Option on Mac, and put the cursor on the dividing line between the layers. The cursor should change to a double circle with a triangle pointing left.
3. Click, and presto! The bottom layer becomes a clipping mask for the top layer, meaning the shape of the bottom layer will be used on the content on the top layer. -
It sounds like you have enabled the Auto-Activate option for your buttons. Disable that and your menu will behave as expected.

Whenever Adobe updates one of their apps (AE, Photoshop, etc.), plug-ins sometimes break because of changes Adobe makes. But Adobe talks with the plug-in developers and lets them know about the changes, and most of the developers have updates ready shortly after the updates ship.
As far as I know, most of the developers have updated their plug-ins for AE7. There’s some hold-outs, like Digieffects, but I think they’re working on it.

Nope. Script files for AE can be cross-platform (and I think the Useful Assistants plug-ins might have been, but they were special). But in general plug-ins need to be coded for the platform they’re used on.
Check with the developer of your particular plug-ins for compatibility, and whether or not your license may allow you to use both platforms without having to pay twice.
