Thanks for the help, but I found this:

  • There is clearly something going on with Edius 4.6 and CS3. I did the same thing you did with no luck, but then I did this:
I did a Windows XP Pro install on a new drive to make sure everything was clean. I installed AE CS3 and it worked fine. I installed Edius 4.6, then the problem showed up again in AE CS3. I uninstalled Edius 4.6, then manually removed remaining remnants of Edius in the registry. I thought the Canopus Codec could be the issue, but I left that installed to see. AE CS3 worked fine. I installed Edius 4.5 I got from a friend to run a test and CS3 worked!

I really wanted Edius 4.6 because plugins are now available, but I will not give up AE CS3. Grass Valley is aware of the situation, but for some reason this is not a problem across the board. Some people are running 4.6 and CS3 fine. I will just go back to 4.0 for now. Another solution if you want is to install another instance of Windows and have Edius on one and Adobe on the other. You just have to reboot every time you want to switch applications.

  • I have the same issue I’m trying to solve. I have a different system:
    Gigabyte EP35C-DSR3 motherboard
    WinXp Pro SP2 32bit
    GeForce 8400GS 256mb videocard

What we have in common is I also have Edius 4.6 and ProCoder 3. Let’s try uninstalling those and see if it helps. It won’t solve the problem, but will narrow it down to where the problem lies.
