New Adobe Premier Pro 2017 Updates as of June 18 2017 now support the Lumix GH5 4K 10bit Video files.
I ran some test with it. Normal Import works perfect. Dropdown into timeline works. Rendering into H.264 MP4 and various other encodings is legit.
Just curious @chrisking Do you have a recommended Playback for the sequence settings on this? Or is the Regular Mpeg fine?
Thanks again Adobe for getting this resolved sooner then later. Much appreciated.

Yes. Have had this happen also. Not sure a fix. But (and only sometimes) If I pull the card out a few times, and put it back in, the Files Magically work again. No kidding.

HI Peter,
Thank you again for your response. Very appreciated. When I bring the footage in, its ok sometimes. But once It goes into the timeline the whole program crashes everytime. I have tried it with a few different sequence settings as well. No Dice.Any workarounds on this for now?
Thanks again Peter. Much appreciated…

Go into your old File folder or even Speedgrade. They should all be in there in the Lumetri Folder. Copy them into the new folders for the New Premier Lumetri. There should be 3 folders.

HI,
My short answer…1. Camera: Lumix Gh4 or Canon 60D Both have a learning curve but once its all set up its push play and done.
2. Lavalier Mic: Sony UWP Plugs right into both cameras
3. Light LED: Generay 400W
4. I would suggest Imovie at the very least for editing. Super User Friendly

Good call on switching to Premier Pro! Just make sure your project and sequence settings always match your footage perfectly. The set ups are uniquely diffeferent.
As for 4K footage Vs Hd. Sometimes they take up the same amount of space depending on what mode you are in. Meaning sometimes the bits per second are similar and your better off just shooting 4K on everything and having the extra frame to work with in the HD project file.

I have never personally came across that with the Gh4. Although any pans we do are very slow and usually use slider shots.
I would try the 24fps with a variable frame rate of 48. When you bring the footage into premier, right click your footage in the media bin and interpreter it as 24. Works everytime and will get super smooth shots.Timothy Kline

Camera, I would look into the Panasonic GH5. It’s just been released and is hands down the best all around camera ever made in our opinion.
Lighting: Generay LEDs are amazing and highly recommended for every kind of shoot.
Lav Mic: Sony UwP.
