Ae you certain that they are both selected? Any time that I have 2 or more clips selected, I can get to the “New multicam clip…” option in both the Right-Click popup and the File menu – even if the clips aren’t the same FPS.
Also, if you’re using the filmstrip view, try using the list view in the clip browser to make sure that you do have multiple clips selected.

Just a SWAG, but could it be that the render files hadn’t been rendered and FCP X was rendering while copying?

But, keep in mind that this new integration will allow your composer and your editor to work more directly. By exporting the Logic session as a compound clip rather thane a simple stereo mix will allow the editor to manipulate things more directly within the FCP X project rather than simply having to deal with the stereo / 5.1 mix track provided.
I’ve seen films where I wish that I could turn the horns down just a bit to help make the dialog more present. But, because the strings need to be that loud for the ambience of the scene, we’re stuck with loud horns. If you have a compound clip, you could tone the horns down a couple of dB and not affect the strings.

Sorry Bernard, but that will never work. You won’t damage the drive, but SATA is not SAS. Further, only the ATTO family of SAS HBAs will properly support tape (and we’ve tested them all).
Once you get the ATTO, all will be well.

Definitely NOT losing the Mac love! The two apps will be on par and only the window decorations will differ from a user perspective.

Ah – we are actually working on a couple of different scenarios – Archival and Long Term Storage, Archival of projects, and Archival for delivery.
We’re heads-down on BRU PE for Windows right now, but the videos will come shortly after that release.
Does anyone have a specific scenario that they would like to see covered?

I’m an LTO fanatic (tape is much safer than disk), but I will say that the elements of static and destruction of a disk are pretty remote because of the way disks are made today. I use raw Seagate Constellation 3 drives in an external USB-3 dock (OWC has a few in “Accessories”) for my projects and short term storage after they’re wrapped (again, long term goes to LTO with BRU). This is more cost effective than pre-configured external drives when you need more than 2 or 3 and allows you to use enterprise class drives instead of the consumer grade devices that are included in the average external solutions. Remember, with hard drives, you really do get what you pay for.
As long as you don’t walk around your carpeted office in wool socks trying to build up a huge static discharge, you’ll find that normal handling will be quite safe with a raw disk as with your laptop or desktop computer.
