I just had an issue with this recently. Check the start timecode of your offline reference clip against the start timecode of your timeline. My offline ref started at 00 hours, and the timeline was at 01, causing it to not line up correctly. You can alter the offline’s timecode by moving the playhead in the viewer to frame 1, then going to clip properties by right clicking on the offline ref clip and choosing the timecode tab.
I hope this helps, it took having it happen twice this year for me to actually learn.

March 10, 2014 at 6:43 pm in reply to: Premiere Pro and SAN without Adobe Anywhere?

I talked to an Adobe rep at an event last year and expressed my interest in an intra-office version of Anywhere that allowed for project collaboration between multiple editors. He acknowledged that they were aware of this as a feature people were interested in but that’s about it. I have high hopes for Adobe at NAB, especially with larger and larger projects happening this more advanced collaboration would be super helpful.

To come closer to actually answering your question, we have multiple machines connected to an XRaid stack via fibre, but the PPro software limitations result in having to duplicate project files as to avoid opening and saving while someone else is working and potentially corrupting a file. Transferring sequences is also cumbersome, as you get duplicates of all clips in the project even if you are already connected to the media. If you aren’t using that media that’s fine, but if you already have it in the project it would be nice to be able to disable creating duplicate clips.

Overall it works ok, you just have to be careful when people are working at the same time.

I had a similar issue that I fixed by rolling back to 9.9.2. This was on an iMac with an Ultrastudio 4K, but it sounds like the same problems I was having with 9.9.3.

September 22, 2013 at 9:16 pm in reply to: Premiere Pro CC Link Media extremely slow

I’m wondering if this in an indexing issue, or some aspect of it that premiere isn’t tapping into. In general premiere has been great, it was only this reconnection of a very large project from fcp 7 where I had issues. I absolutely agree it has to be babysat and the fact it tried (with no benefit and at a snail’s pace) to continue reconnecting after finding only one clip is odd and in need of attention.
I have high hopes for the October update, I haven’t read anything about linking but here’s hoping it’s improved.

September 16, 2013 at 10:59 pm in reply to: Resolve 10 Live configuration problem

I got the video up after switching the project over to 720p59.94 YUV, but I have persistent dropout of the image from the Red every second or two. I’ve tried BlackMagic settings as well as Resolve settings, so I’m guessing it’s just Beta stuff happening that’ll get ironed out in Desktop Video 10 and Resolve 10 final. Anyone else have a similar issue?

Update: It doesn’t get the job done, band aid still required.
