Editors needed! …to win the 90to5 Editing Challenge 😀

Once again, 90to5 challenges you to cut a feature down to a short. The contest is a great creative exercise for editing students as well as seasoned film editors – it’s a lot of fun, it’s free and you can win big! Deadline is October 31st 2014.

Hop over to our facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/90to5EditingChallenge) or our blog (https://challenge.90to5.org) for more info. Looking forward to YOUR edit!

    Happy Editing!

Hey, check this out – two of the participants of the 90to5 Editing Challenge posted their edits on youtube:
    Night of the Living Dead
    https://t.co/9IZXoiQK
And two versions of My Man Godfrey

Now there are some good examples to follow… and compete against 😉

    Cheers,

    Hey Mark,

This is an excellent question. As long as it helps tell the story and there is no copyright attached (to that audio) it should be fine. This is for the “True Edit Award”.
For the “Fun Edit Award” things are even more liberal… you can get away with all sorts of inserted visuals/sounds.

Sorry again for spoiling your appetite with my shocking noobish edit of Metropolis. I’m glad you might still join the fun and look forward to your edit!

    Cheers,
    Til

    Hey Mark,

haha, you are right – the Metropolis example does suck a lot! Anyways, most of the entries we received so far are awesome… Battleship Potemkin is in the PD and up at the Internet Archive

    Hey Stephen,

yes, kind of like that… and it’s indeed a great exercise. If you happen to know any students that might be interested – spread the word! Thanks heaps!
