    Oh, that.

    10.5.8
    2.5Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
    2Gb 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRam

Oh right, good to know that I can log and transfer also with MTS files!

I didn’t know that, so the files were converted from MTS into mp4.

Im going to reconvert anyway, cause it looks shitty.

Im trying other things as for the playback problem, which remains the same.

    Thank you

    Hi Shane,

What I meant by stuff is the clips.

They’re all saved in this specific project files or imports folder.

Since it is a demoreel project, it is a multi format thing, meaning I have material from different cameras and very different formats, from mini dv to HQ, through MTS and betacam converted, which I assume is the reason why Im having playback and audio sync problems.

Thank you for your reply and I hope Im answering what you asked.

When I am editing a show reel it means that I have several formats.

In that case, what should specs be, so that I wont get stuck each time it changes clips?

It mostly get stuck when changing from/to clips that were filmed with a sony HD minicam, in MTS, then converted.

    My specs are:

    system settings/playback control
    RT Unlimited
    Frame Rate Half
    Video Quality Medium
Pulldown Pattern 2:3:2:3 (what is this?)
Frame offset: 4 (what is this?)
    Gamma correction: accurate

    Thank you,

Your files are not damaged, nor probably split. Technology still getting disrupted by stupid corporate limitations. We need smart formats and tools that will communicate. That is very typical Sony and very typical Mac, release the product of your dreams and make it very hard for you to use it.

Anyway, enough of letting out my current indignation towards stupid things like this in 21st century.

I have been trying to import all my files into FCSP3 from a EX3 of the same series you have, but the newest, and apparently what is needed is a FinalCut plug-in that will allow you to do this. I haven’t tried it yet, but will soon.

    We need smart formats.

    Hi Michael,

I just got an EX3, is there any way around this XDR Compact Flash HD-SDI recorder to obtain 4:2:2?

Can I output HDMI into anywhere else in order to get that color info or is that the only way available so far?

    Thanx,

    JvK
