    All good info, thanks.

Can anyone tell me the difference in working with a GTX 1080 vs a GTX 1080 Ti? Quite a price difference between these two — is it worth it?

    thanks,

Are you editing 4K footage? If so, ho0w does the system work?

I understand you’re in Denmark, but I can do the exchange into US$ if you tell me the cost.

    thanks!

Do you recall what it cost you to build? How is it working for you?

Really interesting. Do you know of anyone who’s built a PC using Max’s recommendations?

I’ve tried using MPEG STreamclip but it only transfer sound, not video, to an mpeg file.

Any other thoughts of getting .mov files into Premiere CS6?

    thanks

Guys, thanks for the advice. You asked if there’s a budget constraint, and the answer’s yes, which is why I’m looking towards used/refurbished gear. I’m new to FCPX and will learn the program on this machine. I’ll probably upgrade hardware sometime in the future, I just need to get up and running for now.

Given the above, what’s a good direction to go?

    Lorenzo,

I tried MPEG Streamclip, which is a great program, but it did not include video in the MPEG-4 file it created, just sound only. VLC can play the files perfectly. I’m enclosing a snapshot of my settings

    thanks

    Hi Dusty

Thanks for your email. I’ve just used the Nano on a job and love it, as did my client. It beats the Firestore in several ways.

I have clients who want to go to Firestore, but I would need to somehow get a firewire output from the Varicam. So fat I have not seen anything that can do that…

    thanks
