Ok, So Sony Vegas stopped responding again, and i used the “Resmon” method again. Right clicked Sony vegas, Analyze Wait Chain and i got this image (numbers different each time)

I tried ending the prosess (both the main once, and the one under it) but every option just ends the entire program.

    my GPU Watts are:
    Maximum Graphics Card Power: 170W
    Minimum System Power Requirement: 500W

My power supply has 750W so it’s above the requirements.

Can the problem be in my Vegas setup? i have tried default settings. but should i use GPU acceleration ect, and how much RAM limit should i use according to my specs? Maybe someone here has any sugestion according to my specs?

and to answer previous questions; i bought the computer built from the manufacturor. Nothing has been upgraded by me. All i did was chose from a drop down list what specs i wanted, and all the parts sugested shoud work perfectly together.
Vegas does not start on bootup, i run it manually.
    And i don’t have a Wacom Tablet.
I don’t think i have any other programs or plug-ins that i have installed before running vegas for the first time either.

Edit: BTW, sorry for the foraign language on the image, but i recon you’re familiar with the layout on Resmon. Ask me if anything is unclear and i will do my best translating it.

Hey guys. Sorry for my lack of response lately. Been working a lot and was recently at the cabin for a week to film some landscape shots and planning some masking techniques for my next project. I will do some more in depth research on the tips you gave me and get back to you on that. I would never dare to over clock my computer, that’s why i bought a powerfully computer to handle the workflow without tweaking it too much. But i owe you all a big thanks for trying to figure out this mess. I’ll get back to you soon.

    Hi Dave.

I gave the event viewer a try, and it shows all the instances where Vegas crashes. The report gave me a list of numbers and letters, i will do my best at translating them as i don’t have Windows installed in English.

    Description
Path to program with error: C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro 12.0\vegas120.exe

    Problem signature
    Problem event name: APPCRASH
    Program name: vegas120.exe
    Program versjon: 12.0.0.394
    Timestamp for program: 5086cf03
    Error module name: StackHash_cb76
    Error module version: 6.1.7601.18247
    Timestamp for errormodule:521eaf24
    Exemption Code: c0000374
    Exeption Offset: 00000000000c4102
    OS-versjon: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1
    ID for national setting: 1044
    additional information 1: cb76
    additional information 2: cb760c577a73af58d50f8290871876eb
    additional information 3: b215
    additional information 4: b215f29f7002df36dd5d8ad9027e9d1e

Now the question remains what to make of these numbers. I tried the obvious which was to search for solutions via windows. It just said you will be informed when a solution to the problem is found. Another software dll file could be plausible, but that sounds like a dificult task to try and find out. But thank you for the response 🙂

Thank you for the tip Steve. I Can’t say i have tried resmon before. I did a quick google search on it and managed to run it paralell with vegas pro, this time the project crashed even before it loaded all the tracks. But resmon did not elaborate that much other than showning in red “not responding” under PID it said “7108” right click and analyse showed nothing, then i right clicked and tried search internett, but it just googled “vegas120.exe” I can keep trying different things and wait for vegas to get the loading wheel before not responding to se if it gives me a different message. Am i doing this correctly, or is there some other procedure in resmon i should try when it does’nt respond?

I’m not saying i know everything about Sony Vegas. I would say i know how to get what i wan’t to achieve editing wise, but when it comes to more technical aspecs and bugs ect, I’m not that trained, i always figured it was something wrong with my PC. But I’m hopefull and open to any sugestions i haven’t tried that might solve the problem. I’ve never really tweaked the preferances that much, and I’m not sure how to optimize the software to get the ideal preformance to my new specs. You guys seem way ahead of me on that aspect wchich is why I am turning to you. And i apreciate youre response so far.

I bought the Adobe Creative cloud bundle, but i have a lot to learn when it comes to after effects and premiere. There is something i just love about vegas pro. It’s so easy to use (when it works) and the layout and user interface just feels right. I love using it to just edit down and make a final cut of my movies, but when it crashes it takes so much extra time. I Guess i’m just having a hard time letting go of everything i have learned and start all over with a different program.
And i kept saying to myself, this has to be a issue with my computer, but after reciving my new PC and the crashes kept comming, I’m starting to give up.. 🙁 I wish one of the developers came knocking on the door, sat down and tried to figure out what is causing the problem. Maybe I’m just cursed.
