    Hi Kevin,

Yes, sounds like it would solve it for this… Hopefully Adobe will address it eventually!

    Thanks for your time,

    Tom

    Hi Kevin,

Thanks for that.. Did that work when you tried it?

I entered the script as you suggested, but After Effects converts the arabic numbers into english (see video below).

And yet, if I type the numerals directly into After Effects (using the Persian input method), they render correctly.

If I go to the unicode web page you suggested, and enter the number, it confirms that I’m using the right unicode numbers.

So I guess it’s an AE bug?

I’ve tried to embed a video showing the problem, and there’s also a version on Vimeo here:

Should have mentioned – one way I used to get around it was this:

    Quit AE
Quit all other apps, and end task on any non-essential processes that are running.
    Restart AE
    Export as an Image Sequence
If it crashes, go through the steps above (possibly rebooting the PC too), then carry on from the frame where you crashed.

If your sequence includes audio, then export that seperately as a WAV

Stitch it all back together using QuickTime Pro 7.

    It’s a right pain.

I used to get this continuously when I used AE in Windows XP. I moved to a mac (with admittedly more RAM and CS5 not CS4), and the problem never happens any more for me. Not an instant solution I realise, but maybe something to bear in mind next time you get the chance to buy a machine.

The firefox add-on Screengrab lets you grab whole webpages, but only as static images. If you don’t need to scroll, I guess you could grab a static whole page using that, then use screenflow to overlay the portion of the page that you are clicking on (until the page redraws or changes).

Not ideal, but might be better than nothing?
