thanks for that. as i have no clue about expressions yet, some more questions:

will this only work for rotating a layer in there? or can i generally move around pretty much anything in there?

will it only work for that 3x3x3 matrix thing? because the actual thing will be 20x25x25 pixels.

yes, i tried that … it is more of 3d problem than a mode problem.
