The reason why we still don’t have multichannel audiomixdown remains a mystery to me since we have audio embedded through SDI and that there’s no hardware limitations anymore.
Concerning match frame, you said what you said from a M100 editor point of view (which is mine too but not only). Try to explain that there’s no matchframe in M100 to an AVID/FCP editor and he will run away because it’s like having a tool to cut a clip for him. The same problem occurs with simple functions like JKL navigation also. If M100 wants to grow up in the NLE industry, they have to integrate those simple and standards tools in their software (from my humble point of view

Tiger V.10.4.8 works on a G4 with vincent card configuration on 8.2.3.a very well. It comes with the newest graffiti stuff. Go for it.

Producer beta version 11.5 works on my 17″ 1,5 Ghz very well, so the answer is yes. You need a G5 if you want to work with HD material only

The first thing i would check is square or non square pixel aspect ratio. Make sure you always use the 720 pal codec, there’s a tiny difference with the 768 pal codec named Media 100 Pal codec used for analogic sources.

I’ve tried that once, and i think it worked. The problem is that i have film archives .mov that i would like to master to tape and their codec is -Xfermedia100- instead of i or HD. Another strange thing about these files is when i want to make a DVD video using Toast (the simpliest way i found), toast refuses to encode in mpeg-2 and always make a really bad mpeg-1 disc. Really strange. Can’t figure out.

I work in version 10.1.4. I export audio & video. The problem appears periodically if i export by ref or self contained. I usually work with M100i codec but the problem appears the same way with m100 HD codec (always in SD). The problem seems to be connected to black clip : the same program exported without black clips at the beginning of the timeline has the right codec in apple i (either HD or M100i)

We use Sony DSR 40, Canopus 110, Canon XL1, Panasonic ADCV 100, with our NLE here.
We are very interested by version 11.5 but please add those 3 simple things in this release :
1. OMF support
2. A real match frame
3. JKL navigationWe own two M100i, one M100 HD and plans to add an SW in the near future if it’s possible to monitoring through FW to an external monitor like in FCP.
