OK, I think I might know what the problem is. Go to your [IN/OUT REC] menu and set VCR DV/HDV to HDV. If my guess is correct you currently have it set to Auto and I believe there is a problem with doing so. Let us know if this works. If not I will get the cam out and take another crack at it.

Larry,

I don’t believe all effects work with Transparent Video. I know lens flare does, but I don’t recall the others.
