I was running 4 identical 2GB RAM stick mistakenly thinking Vista 32bit would use them all. I just pull 2 sticks and set them aside for use later.

Well, I first took out the extra 4GB RAM I was running and then exported out as suggested rather that Export to Encore. Also after the 3rd or 4th time of it hanging, I noticed it was at the same spot so I relogged the tape. After doing all this, things went fine. So THANKS to all for the help.

The timeline is about 10 minutes long of HDV footage-no special effects or even transitions. There are a few basic titles thrown in. Free space on the capture drive is about 1.7TB and about 250GB on the program drive.
    Thanks for your time.

Didn’t work. Still froze half way thru Export to Encore.

I am running Vista Ultimate 32bit and am getting low memory notices. No massive jpeg’s, just HDV material. I’ll try your suggestions and let ya’ll know.

    Thanks for the replies.

Wow! I was sure wasting a lot of time thinking that the red bars affected output. Thanks for the schooling!!

So when I use a nested sequence, I don’t have to re-render it???

My usual workflow for an event is to break it up and edit it in a series of sequences (which are rendered for review), then compose a larger sequence of nested sequences to export to DVD. So are you saying I don’t have to deal with the little red bars in the larger sequence of nested sequences???

If that’s the case, then Thog has had a bright light shined into his dim brain !!! He is grateful !!
