If your rendered files are playing back fine, try setting your playback setting to preview (auto)I think it will solve your problem. Sounds like you are choking the system.

At the bottom of the trimmer window there are three boxes. Right click the first box and from the menu chose begin selection. Type in the time code. Then right click the second box and chose end selection and type in time code. The right box will show you duration.

PLace identicle shots on track 1 and 2. Use bezier masking to isolate an element in track 1. Change the track compositing to 3d for both tracks. You can then move either track forward or back (Z axis)which gives the impression of zooming. You can do a pseudo rack focus effect by blurring one track and then by using keyframes bring that track into focus while blurring the other track.

This is just one way of doing this. A more elegant way is to take your scene into photoshop and do the masking or cut out and then cloning a new background where the cut out element had been. A lot more work but muich more believable.

Could depend on what changes (new programs, updates, etc) you have made to your computer since last year.

    Spot,
I could run a couple of short experiments to find this out but I thought I would just ask first:>)
You stated ” and either muting the multiple audio tracks“> Does this mean that when you render a project any muted tracks (either audio or video) do not render? I was under the impression that the mute just worked while working on the project. Never really thought about it.
