I am talking one system…stand alone workstation on a network with storage. I have been advised to use a SAS raid array and dedicate this machine to crunch data…storage external…Although I have assembled a computer for my son to play on my knowledge tends to evaporate quickly when problems arise…Vegas and Adobe are my tools…recent projects in HDV have hammered my current system and limited my ability to take on larger projects…I am a 4yr novice to the sport but have exposure to the real deel of filmaking…if they strike next fall I may need this to support myself entirely…currently I record bits and pieces of various tests to be shown to the creative people and they pay me…they have their display stuff covered…Dual Quad Core Xeon’s or AMD’s?…4gb of storage or 10?…dual monitors and a HD screen?….I am medium level user…chief cook and bottle washer…
