There are numerous techniques, hardware and software for doing remastering and restoration. DVNR, PFClean, Davinci Revival or painting manually in photoshop/AE/iQ/Smoke/Flame whatever.

I’d reckon the most costly tool in this sort of a project would be the film scanner. Or scan the footage somewhere else with a good colorist.

They might’ve gotten some original reels and rescanned/restored the film.

Those listed framerates for 720p are the signal standards. I’ve not gone super deep analyzing this but I’d wager it’s that because 720p50 has pretty much the same bit-rate as 1080i25.

Try using the Blackmagic Media Express software. It’s free and you should have it on your machine when installing Blackmagic drivers.

Do you have a fast enough disk to run the nearly uncompressed file or does the animation itself have glitches when rendered out?

AE and Premiere do not share all effects.

How many times are you going to ask this same question? The animation looks smooth because the keyframes are probably eased in and/or out and not straightforward linear keyframes.
Also one could try enabling motion blur.
