You can’t move that into Fusion but you can use the mask as an alpha in the color page. Add an alpha output to your color node tree and pipe your mask into that.

I would really, reaaaaaallly suggest using a modern NLE for modern cameras instead of trying to stay with the older software and transcoding everything. Resolve is getting there editing wise and it also has built in Fusion now for effects and Fairlight for audio. Also the basic version is free and probably does enough for your needs.
If you’re used to doing effects in AE you could render out some supported format from Resolve and work on the shot in AE. That’s pretty much what I do most of the time.

Not really. There are a bunch of good “visually lossless” formats like Prores and DNxHD but if you’re on Windows it might be tough to get them working as Quicktime has been killed and every program has their own encoders/decoders for that now.

The XF 405 records in XF-AVC and H264 4:2:2 and I’d wager that neither of those will import into that 7-8 year old, dead, collection of software. I’d suggest using Resolve for editing or at least transcoding If you still want to use CS6.

If you’re doing VFX work you should be using either the original file or EXR sequences.

What is your delivery resolution? Even though you have 8K footage doesn’t mean you have to work in 8K.

The thing with the limitation is that it lets you export but it will scale the actual rendered image down to the maximum output. So you would have a 1920×1080 image that is center cut in a 2704×1440 file.

Resolve 10 is pretty goshdarn old and if I remember correctly the older free versions were limited to 1920×1080 export. The newer versions support UHD output for the free version.

I have no idea what these tutorials are trying to teach but 16 Mbps for audio would be quite a lot and 16 kbps would be kinda shitty. Maybe they meant bit depth?

The export bit rate doesn’t correlate with the original recorded format. Compressed audio usually goes from 16 to 320 kbps (at least with the AAC codec found in Premiere) and I unless otherwise specified I use the maximum because the audio bit rate still isn’t that much compared to what the video should be.
