Thanks for the reply. This isn’t very practical as I’ve hundreds of clips exported from PFClean that I want to retouch further in photoshop then import into premier. It is amazing that photoshop can edit & retouch video but cannot export to Prores.

  • I have the same problem with the same version of PS5 extended doing image sequence retouching on an identical setup as yours. Reinstalling PS5, fixing permissions etc. all don’t help. The arrow keys worked in the past but no more. The arrow keys are a big help. Any advice to put the arrow back in our quiver?

If you’ve an AJA Kai Pro, you could play & convert the 23.97 file from your kona3 into into the Kai Pro as a new 29.97 file & re-import this new file back into your 29.97 project.

    Tom,
Thanks I’ve CS4 on a Windows machine & didn’t know it could playback prores. Do I just go to the apple site & get what? A Quicktime update or?

How does Premier compare running on a Mac vs a PC as far as stability and responsiveness? How about Kona vs other interface cards like black magic? Guess an other issue is Codec. ProRes is our primary codec for original recordings & for rendered edited Masters. It seems like Premier doesn’t work too well with prores.

Thanks, this is encouraging. I’ve a Kona3 & Kona Li on Mac’s. Are these people doing this on Mac’s or PC’s?

September 29, 2010 at 4:14 pm in reply to: brand new Mac Pro monitor max res 1280X800?

Thanks, Yes I am using the mini apple adapter not a dual link version you show. Guess I’ll need to buy the dual link version. Thanks.
My 2nd monitor is a 30″Del which also only runs at 1280 X 800 resolution from the other connector on the ATI RAdeo HD 5870 card. Will I need a 2nd graphics card to get the 1680 X1050 display from it?

Thanks, that’s helpful info and seems reasonable. I assume this also is the same for the plugins?

I’ve a Kona3 w/ FC7 all up to date & notice the same thing a few weeks ago. Though my files are 1080psf/23.97, if I set FC’s video playback at that same frame rate the sync is weird. The SDI output esp. has early audio. It seems much better if I set it to 29.7 frame rate though.

Sorry, I didn’t have my Mac booted & didn’t get your question. It is Mac OS extended both for the individual arrays, and for the 8TB stripe that shows up on the desktop.
