gotcha.

yeah, had been importing by going to file > import > xml

but hrm. i was under the impression that one of the functions of xml was to enable fcp users to transfer edited projects seamlessly in a backwards compatible fashion.

suggesting my only option is to re-export from fcp7? if so, how can i have the project read by fcp6? can i at all?

so are you suggesting that the xml file hasn’t been exported properly? when i open it up in textedit, it looks legit. it’s just that when i try to import into fcp 6.06, I get that error message.
