Ok I did not think about that.
What is ol’ DVI? Do I need more slots to use that?

    Ok thank you.
Its not for color control, but for more detailed VFX work on ungraded material.

    Hi Walter,

I am in MC6 and I guess you understand that replacing Mojo DX with any of those boxes is not a proper solution in any way.

Mac only has 4 slots if you dont expand with Cubix, with a cost of a new Z800.

There is not a solution for us to work with the computer monitors.

Have anyone tested this? – https://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/dviextender/

    Thank you Dylan,

So that basically means that you change to RedColor3/Redlogfilm before the DPX extraction?

And by “LUTs for RedLogFilm” you mean a viewing LUT that is apply afterwards in Flame/Smoke etc, that “converts” the dull/flat redlog DPX-files to something more contrasty that is possible to work with?

If you work in After Effects, do you follow the same procedure with applying an viewing LUT or do you use ICC profiles configuration instead to achieve the same?
If you use a LUT I guess it doesnt matter much what kind of LUT that is used, as long as it gives the VFX-artist a good starting point – since the LUT is disabled when rendering anyway?

Robin. Avid works different. Its not based on drag/drop, mouse clicking and lassoing. You can work that way, but its not the way it is most effective. You should learn some basic commands, extending methods instead of trimming, using the composer window more active and so on. In your case. Set in+out on your timeline, alt+c/x/z (load IN composer), select correct tracks (grey area) and key down to the timeline. Depends on how you have mapped your keys. Learn to work this way and you can edit double as fast as with FC/Premiere. Its a bit complicated but take the time.

you see… my biggest problem is painting back edges or make edges that doesnt exist.
Lets say a green garden with a hvite fence. In front of the fence a guy is standing (hiding the edge of the fence.

What is the best technique to back the edge of this fence? In photoshop.

Thank you Walter, I love the content aware Fill too. Too bad After Effects does not provide tools like this.
You have any “secret” supertips up your sleeve? 🙂
