I’ve just tried what you suggested, it looks ok on lcd monitors but the whole thing looks really really bad when played on a TV (crt)

Im gussing its me?

Sorry for the lack of details.
I have filmed a 6 min video its been shot on a sony z1e the camera was set to down convert and I captured the footage as 16:9 dv pal.

The footage has been edited using fcp on a Mac book pro. I exported a self contained QuickTime movie.

I used the settings I posted and on my Mac book pro it looked ok, on lcd monitors it looks ok but this one clip looks really bad on normal TVs (crt).

I am now just about to try all the suggestions in this post.
I will post later with the results.

When I worked on dv at the end of a project Id make up a dv tape. I didn’t think about the limitations’ of the hdv format.
At the moment I can’t afford a better quality tape deck so I’m assuming im best to just make up a digital file?

As for capturing straight to proress is this possible using a Mac book pro? Id had been advised to capture in hdv and set the render setting for the sequence to proress!

I feel like every thing is going wrong!!!
