    “cyle”? 🙂

    All I did was:

    1. drop clip into comp (comp 3x longer than clip).
    2. Apply time remapping to clip.
    3. Apply default loop_Out “cycle” expression using the drop-down menu.

    loopOut(type = “cycle”, numKeyframes = 0)

    4. Trim the out-point of the clip to the right so I could actually see the looping. Remember, there’s no looping seen if something is only long enough to be seen once. 🙂

… and the layer needs to exist under the playhead (“current-time inicator” or CTI) so the layer can be seen at the CTI, same as always.

I loop TR keys all the time. Pretty much. I just applied TR then applied the default loop_Out cycle expression — no problems.

Can you copy your expression and paste it into your next post?

It’s only available when you’re rendering a still sequence. That’s the only way to take advantage of multiple instances on a dual-processor machine.

What are you Output Module settings? Codec? Format?

(The multi-machine render settings and output module settings are good shortcuts.)

  • Er … that’s “instances”.

    S.

  • There isn’t one any more.

There used to be a product line called Ice, but it became obsolete when CPUs became faster than the accelerator.

    1. just get the fastest dual-processor computer you can
    2. Render a still sequence on that computer using multiple instances of AE with the “multi-machine” preset. For more info, search the COW for “instancxes”.

The thing is … you have to combine a CC cylinder layer (with an angled line of text as source) with two flat text layers. It’s easy to hide the join behind the girl, so I recommend that you set up the angled line and cylinder so it passes behind the girl on the way in and the way out. The text in the cylinder would look like a coiled spring.

Otherwise, trying to mate the cylinder text with flat text (in front) could be painful.

Or you could use a 3D app such as Cinema 4D. 🙂

There’s a COW tutorial (using Shatter) for that. Seek and ye shall find.
