525 includes non-image area.
525 = 480 image (“active scan lines”) + 45 blanking.

Full disclosure department: Thanks for the vote of confidence Dave, but my info came from the web as well, as I’m a Mac guy too. But it came from a number of sources, describing a number of applications.
That said, why not check for yourself? Google “after effects” and “vista” .

Yes. “Compressing”, not “burning”, actually. After you make your High-quality movie in AE, it goes “Compressing, then Authoring, then Burning” … technically.
… Unless they’re playing it on an HD-DVD or Blu-Ray player. If that’s the case, you might want to ask how to author that kind of DVD in the DVD Authoring COW.

And yes, RAM and processors are more important than the graphics card when using AE.

Hmph. A while ago there were AE6 pref issues with 10-bit movies, if I recall. Maybe there’s a 0/1 flag set incorrectly for uncompressed and YUV movies in the prefs. I’ll try to dig up that info.
