Still interprets everything square
I posted on this last week but i’m still having an issue. All my D1 footage is getting interpreted as square. I checked in the rules file in the AE folder and as per this rule my footage should show up as D1 since it is 720×486
# soft rule; assume 720×486 formats with all frame rates have NTSC DV/D1 pixel aspect ratio
720, 486, *, *, * ~ 648/720, *, *, *, *, *Why did this rule stop working for me? How can I get it to work again?

Have you tried rendering something new (no footage) at D1 and seeing if AE interprets that correctly when you import it…?
Let us know what happens. It’s an odd problem.

I’d tried an old AE rendered file that was in D1 and it came in correctly, but AE also knew it had created the file as it came in with the proxy logo and not the regular quicktime movie logo.
Animation codec 8 and 10 bit uncompressed are the troubled ones. DV stuff is fine. It’s only my 720×486 material. I’m gonna try rendering something out of Motion and then importing it into AE and see what that does. I’ll post back after I do.

Just rendered something out of motion 10bit D1 720×486
and it comes in square.

Hmph. A while ago there were AE6 pref issues with 10-bit movies, if I recall. Maybe there’s a 0/1 flag set incorrectly for uncompressed and YUV movies in the prefs. I’ll try to dig up that info.
