Don’t tell me I jumped in a couple of weeks early AGAIN! Just got my 2700 a short time ago, have I now paid thousands more than I needed to (and than it’s now worth?)

OK, I’ll mention the P2CMS to him.
I’m sure you’re right about not being a good way to import, and I’m sure they won’t. As for me, I#m not an editor, I just use it to view my shots at times, hence why I just click on files in the Video folder.

Thanks for the quick response Shane.
When I did it on my laptop it worked fine whatever I did. I could just double click on a video file and it’d play in Quicktime, or I could import files, folders, whatever. He’s not able to do anything with them at all, which makes me wonder if there is a component missing?

In a word, no! The flange focal distance won’t allow it. The lens would have to sit inside the front of the camera. There are 2 ways to put 35mm stills lenses on B4 cameras (in addition to the Letus etc.) First is to replace the lens’s mount completely with either a B4 or Universal (but this is only usually feasible with telephotos), or by using an intermediate optic (ie a low strength teleconverter).

The CAC compatibility seems to be an odd thing. With the Fujinon lenses there is support generally for the versions with and without servo focus. With one in fact, the HA18x7.6, the BERM version which has no servo focus, is listed, while the BERD version which has servo is not! I’m getting a BERD to try so will see if it does actually work.

Convergent Designs NanoFlash has both pre record and can trigger either from camera or via a trigger cord plugged directly into the unit (therefore not needing tape in camera). Come on Panny, catch up!

Just a note to say that I was having this exact same problem – just got a DuelAdapter today and it crashed after transferring about 1gb of data through CMS. I then installed the latest P2 Drivers from Panny and it works fine so far now.

Surely the two options are not comparable? Isn’t the Pro35 an adapter that allows you to keep the 35mm depth of field? You won’t get this with any 2/3″ lens.

“But is not that easy. I’ve find out that the MPEG-2 are not “conformable”. I tried in CinemaTools, and no possible to do it with HDV and EX-1. ”

It’s not that it’s MPEG2, just that it’s long GOP. The Nanoflash will also record 160 and 220 mb/s I frame, and that should (I assume) conform in Cinema Tools.
