    In the CCE window select “Acapella” for the Effect Preset. Or you can try “Lift Vocals 10db”

    The only way it will work at all is if the music is in Stereo (meaning that none of the instruments are dead center) and the voice is strictly mono or exactly the same coming from a stereo source.
    In Soundbooth and Audition find the Vocal Remove effect.

    Not quite sure what your doing but you can highlight just the area you want to render. Alternately you can select the in point and hit “I”, then select the end point and hit “O”.
    Then when you open the render dialog box be sure to check the “Render loop region only”.

    They don’t sell DVD Architect separate any more but you can upgrade to Vegas Pro 9 and get DVDA 5.

    Have you rendered it out and played it back in Windows Media Player or VLC and can you hear the music?

    If so your sound card may not be correctly installed or is muted in Vegas.
