    Thanks for the reply Shane. That surely helped alot but are they ways I could tell if no information was provided at all. For example, by using the get info function in QuickTime for file based materials or perhaps an indication on the HDCAM players on the display? If so, please advise. And if that is not possible, are there any ways I can determine the above mentioned other than looking out for interlacing tell tale signs (combing effect) by jogging the video at scenes where action and movement?

    In addition, are there ways to identify video with progressive segmented frames too?

    Sorry to be so long winded but I need a quick way to
    determine the above and I have no idea how to go about doing it. This information is required for data entry into our DAM and I can’t have our librarians coming to me each and every time the material received is missing that info.
