I am not sure, but I think you can copy from the Premiere Pro sequence to the After Effects timeline without having the Production Studio. I don’t believe that action is related to the Dynamic Link in any way. Try it out.

It is still good, but not as good as it was at HDV. You shrank it. Don’t expect miracles. But it should look as good as any of your SD material.

You could look to “Resizer” to do the job, but you really would probably be better off capturing the HDV footage in a HDV project and then importing that captured footage into a SD 4:3 project and scale it down as desired.

At this point, I might be tempted to go with the Intel Quad Core chips. But I imagine the Core Duo I bought a few months ago is pretty reasonably priced by now.

What do you need to make per hour to make it worth your while? If you need $10/hr then assume $20 per one hour tape – at a minimum. That only includes your actual time spent, not rendering or capturing. Also, I suggest that you find a program that captures directly to MPEG2 so you skip a couple of steps.
In fact, if you have a lot of these to do, invest in a DVD recorder that has composite inputs.

You can not copy transitions.
Perhaps you would be happier making a copy of your project and just delete everything you need to delete.

Choose Audio Units from the timeline panel menu and you can zoom in much more than one frame. You could easily move an audio track by one 48000th of a second. A little extreme, but one 500th of a second might be noticable, I suppose.

If you need accuracy, then frame by frame is not good enough. Set the timeline to use “Audio Units” and you can move less than one frame.

There is a column that shows how many times that the asset has been used. Just sort on that column and then select the first and then Shift-click the last item that has not been used. Press the Delete key.
