I personally use AE and Dynamic Link for a lot of work. Integrating an AE composition into Premiere Pro is a snap. I never do titles or any real motion animation in Premiere Pro anymore.

You don’t use DV AVI on a DVD. You create a MPEG2-DVD file which is compressed to a point that an hour fits easily on a DVD.
You can’t just copy a file to the DVD. You need to use Encore to author the DVD, or fix your problem with Premiere Pro shutting down.

If I understand you correctly, you want two channels of audio. both stereo. So yes, use the Fill effects to achieve your goal.

Is it possible that you are using a FAT32 disk instead of a NTFS disk? FAT32 is limited to 4GB per file and a DV AVI of 50 minutes is over 10GB.
Check where your scratch disks are set to go if you have more than one hard drive (which you should). Perhaps one of the drives is more full than you expect?

Best option? Get the original footage and use that. If the camera produces MPEG4 files, then find a converter program to convert the footage to DV AVI Type 2.

The bin behavior is user definable in the Preferences on the first (General) tab. You get to decide. Just swap Doubleclick and Ctrl+Doubleclick.

Just reset the workspace. It figured you did it on purpose. But resetting it works fine. Or, just doubleclick on a sequence in the Project panel and you will get what you need.

The 16 point garbage matte works fine for some things. But, of course, with After Effects you get Bezier curves and as many points as you want.

MPEG4 is generally a highly compressed video format designed to be viewed, not edited. Premiere Pro, therefore, does not support editing MPEG4 files.
The reason the file was so small is that it is probably spatially as well as temporally compressed. Just for reference, a MiniDV camera uses approximately 12GB per hour of video.
I understand what you want to do, but using the Internet for these files is causing you pain you would not have if you had the original material instead of highly processed clips.

What kind of video is it? Where did you get it? From a camera or the Internet?
What is the purpose of exporting it? For DVD, for playback on a PC?
How long is the clip? 10 Minutes? Longer?
