My 5D Mk II stopped dropping frames when I switched to a very fast card. Hope this helps,
    Steve.

Thanks Robbie. Yes I heard about that announcement. I have been so far conforming my footage to 29.97 as per recommendation and wonder if I really need to be doing this, as some other sources tell me the camera actually shoots 29.97.
    Best always, Steve.

Hello Richard and thanks! For the moment I do not intend on using the camera for sound, but in the future this may change.

Thanks, That makes sense. By the way the material looks gorgeous on the latest LED monitors.

Hello again. I think just doing a clean install of any OS will give better performance to your rig, and in this case for twenty nine bucks I think they’ve got it dialed this time. It’s the little things like external drives ejecting pronto, and super fast bootup, not to mention cool new features like the QuickTime X player. Of course it took a couple days to update drivers etc.. but most of the manufacturers are on board now and I think now this old rig—15in MBP—is good for another 2 years or more and I’ve got a ExpressCard/34 slot.

Thanks Gary. The clips show a field dominance of odd after import into the browser from HD. I would think they would have field dominance of none if they were truly progressive material?

Thanks! I have been advised elsewhere to conform to 29.97 and I have tried LT with good results also.

    Thanks,

Interesting to note that the aspect ratio defaults back to HDV 1080i after I change it to Custom 16:9

My sequence settings look like this

I conformed first with Cinema Tools and imported to the browser from HD.
I captured from camera using Bridge CS4
    Thanks!
