Thanks for your input. I think I’ll just give them both versions and let them decide…

Since I’m giving them FLV and MP4 as well, my understanding is that this uncompressed file is for them to use as the master to compress however else they need for the web.
So, am I safe to think that ProResHQ is comparable in quality to the uncompressed 10bit 4:2:2? I also noticed when I changed the settings in QT Conversion that I could only get the Quality setting to MEDIUM and not to BEST. Is there any way to change this? If I don’t hear back from them, I’ll just give them both versions and let them choose and move on…
Thanks again for all of your help-I really appreciate it!

I just did a quick test exporting it as uncompressed 10 bit (4:2:2) QT and clicked “Deinterlace Source Video” and it looks good, but is this necessary in order to ensure that the output is indeed de-interlaced?
Thanks for your time and insight,
Steve

That just worked-thanks. I didn’t realize that the order that the effects were stacked had that impact on it.
Appreciate both of your help!

Thanks for your response. When I make it black and white first, the color tint doesn’t overide it. I’ve been making it black and white, then rexporting and importing so that my base is black/white but seems kind of involved, and won’t allow me to make changes easily.

Again, thanks for your help but unfortunately that isn’t working either.
I’ve noticed that the footage is not really stuttering, but the color wheel will start spinning and lock me out for about 2 minutes at a time when I scrub the playhead, or sometimes when I don’t really do anything. Very strange.
I was thinking about trashing my preferences but they don’t seem to be in any folder that I look in my library. Bizarre.
Thanks again.

I just kept RT to SAFE and changed video quality to LOW and frame rate to DYNAMIC and that seemed to work for a minute but upon further review still isn’t working.

Thanks for your post Ryan.
My RT settings are currently SAFE, video quality is already DYNAMIC and frame rate is full. Still stuttering though…

Thanks Shane-I’ll give it a try shortly.
FYI, I tried launching FCP 7 again, and it wasn’t loading. When I clicked on another screen (not sure what the new mac spaces thingy is called) but FCP loaded fine off another screen (same monitor). Strange??? Think I’ll not touch anything until I finish the project.

Thank you both. It’s just black letters on a white background, but it sounds like motion is the way to go.
