Find someone with a Mac and have them open with QuickTime or iMovie.

You’d be complaining how sluggish your system has become. That’s just one problem. h.264 is a delivery codec, not editing.

The same you would as your 170. There are no secrets. Bigger is not always better. There are some advantages and some disadvantages.

Yes it requires an adapter. Just like all photography, the lens makes a huge difference.

The analog audio (rca) is output only. SDI embeds the audio signal. Make sure the SDI output of the Toaster has audio output enabled.

I hope this isn’t your workflow. Hopefully you are copying your sd cards onto multiple hard drives and are L & T from the hard drives.

When you edit, make sure the hard drive that your media (proRes from L&T) is stored on is mounted before starting FCP.

Did you convert mp4 to AVI and import into FCP? How did you convert the avi’s to? It needs to be an FCP friendly codec.

Options:
MP4 to ProRes or AVI to ProRes.

Because your image is anamorphic, you must force your image to look correct. Use Photoshop if you have it.

Select the portion of the clip you want. Export using QuickTime Conversion select Image sequence. Under options change from jpg to png.

What are your sequence settings? What codec are you using?
