No. You will need a new charger. Then again, I haven’t tried charging them on an AB charger.

Hard drive issue. Make sure you are not playing back on your system drive. Make sure you are playing back on an external FW 800 drive.

How old is the battery? Do you keep it on the charger at all times? How many hours does the Dionic indicate on the side? Do you have any error messages on the battery?

All but one of my dionics have died. Most well over 5 yrs. old. The one that still works has always remained on the charger.

If you need a replacement battery, take a look at this website. I’ve been using their batteries after my Dionics starting dying well over 5 years ago.

Create an easy setup and capture DV 12bit 32k audio instead of 16 bit 48k.

Set in/out points on each clip (X) and export each clip (command E). Time consuming but if it’s what they want, you give it to them.

You can try to boot your friends computer using your system hard drive from your computer. Her computer is not very powerful. Lacks RAM and processor speed.

System Preferences/Startup Disk.

Latest MacBook Pro with Thunderbolt are great systems.

Having an organized workflow is key. It may take a little more time in the front end, but will save you tons of time in the edit process.

I would create a sequence and take your time and find all your interviews and place them there.

There is a batch export in FCP. Select the sequences in your browser and select batch export.

Not the quickest workflow. In fact, it’s much slower. Bad habits are hard to break in editing.

Export QuiTime Movie then drop your clips into Compressor. Get used to that workflow. Do Not use Export Using Compressor or QuickTime Conversion.

You can sort by date to make things easier.
