    Hi all,
In my wisdom I have shot talking heads at 12 bit. Capturing to FCP an error warning appears saying sample rates do not match resulting in lip sync being off. Looked in Audio settings – capture settings – dohhhhh??
    Help!!!!!! jjb

[John Borowski] “In my wisdom I have shot talking heads at 12 bit. “
    What means that?
Have you shot with an ALEXA?

nope, 12 bit 32 Khz 4 channel sound, thus probably on DV.
But i don’t see why that should have impact on sync though…

Raffael, many thanks for the reply.
Camera Canon XL2 audio set at 12 bit.
Capturing to FCP error message says device settings differ from capture settings therefor lip sync off
How can I change the settings to receive 12 bit ?
    regards jjb

Steve Hi, good to hear from you.
Forgive my lack of knowledge but I cannot understand your reply. I have shot the work on a Canon XL2 with the audio setting on 12 bit. when I try to capture the work with FCP an error message saying the bit settings differ between the camera and FCP which will result in sync being out.. So, my thought was if I could change settings on FCP to capture in 12 bit that would solve my problem, or is this not the way to go. regards jjb

Create an easy setup and capture DV 12bit 32k audio instead of 16 bit 48k.
