Natively, I believe preset and freerun are the only options. You may be able to do it using external sync.

It’s called a hard drive. They are fairly inexpensive these days. There are a few ways of getting the cards onto the hard drive.

Powerbook- just insert the P2 card in the PCMCIA slot
Mac Book Pro- insert P2 card into express34 slot via Duel Adapter.
Attach Hard drive directly to camera.

The dub feature on the HVX200 will downconvert your P2 HD footage to DV onto tape.

Here is some wise advise, read the manual, read Barry Green’s HVX book and CD and watch Barry Green’s HVX Bootcamp DVD’s.

The HD DVD format is DEAD! You can try to make a HD DVD file from DVDSP and play from your computer. There are NO HD DVD burners.

Your other alternative is Blu-Ray. Adobe Encore is the only application that can create a Blu-Ray disk.

If this is going to be an on going thing, I would suggest purchasing Adobe CS3 Production Premium which contains Adobe Encore.

Use log and Transfer if you are ingesting your P2 cards.

FYI, you cannot capture/record 720/1080 via the tape deck on the HVX200. Only DV.
