Highly unlikely the software deleted the card. I’ll take a wild guess it was accidentally reformatted.

Did you have a hard drive crash? If not, the data is still on your hard drive. You can mount the drive with a variety of external enclosures. The NewerTech Voyager from OWC is a good one to look at.
If you did have a hard drive crash, DiskWarrior is a great solution.

You will need to choose a 1080i Blackmagic setup.

Your problem begins with the way FCP handles your footage. Part of the problem is your fault and the rest is FCP. You have to edit with FCP friendly codecs. When you drop a ProRes file into your timeline, FCP will choose the correct sequence setting for you. Proper monitoring will confirm the look of your footage. If your footage matches your sequence settings, you will not need to render.

First question I will ask is what editing software do you use?
Back up your P2 cards (media) onto a hard drive.

I am guessing that you created a title without “Handles.” Perhaps you created the title in Photoshop.
Have you tries a cross dissolve on each ends of the title? Use Motion to create your titles and you should have no problems.

Leave your data alone. You want to make an exact copy of your CF/SD card.
This tutorial will explain the exact workflow.

Use ProRes and your system will work as it should. As you see, getting out of the gate as fast as possible causes problems on the backend.

[Dane Overton] “The output device is set to FirewireDV and I’m able to see the frame the timeline is on (a monitor is hooked up to the deck), but when I play it, it just freezes on that frame.”
View/External Video/All Frames needs to be selected. This will work if your sequence settings are correct.
If your deck has DV in/out pass thru, you should be able to record your timeline to the VHS deck.
Here is a link to the manual for the deck:
