I do think Adobe have an easier platform to innovate with, their code rewrite gives them much more flexibility with PPro, Apple are stuck with all the rubbish under the hood of FCP for the moment.

Hopefully all this will change next year with the sleeker OS coming and fingers crossed a rewrite of FCP, If it doesn’t then I think Adobe are going to start seeing a lot more switchers from FCP.

Well of course bigger chips and better lenses would be good that’s a no-brainer but remember we are talking about crashcam applications here, sure when we’re getting in-cockpit footage from an F18 fighter Jet I’d LOVE to put an F35 with prime lenses in however as that isn’t possible then you have to use cameras like this.

To answer your question I have seen footage from this camera and it’s very good

Very strange statement,of course you’re not going to match with bigger cameras, but for those of us who shoot HD and NEED a minicam solution for in-cockpit and in-car work, this is a great product. I know that there are small HD cameras out there but the PQ is generally awful. The PQ on this setup is considerably better.

    Walter,

have you found any difference with player compatibility since you switched to NetBlender?

Capture HDV, edit in a Pro res sequence – easy! There is absolutely no quality advantage in going any other route.

I have to say I disagree with this statement, we primarily use EX1’s for shooting aircraft at air displays and we get no issues with blurring (except when I get the focus wrong!) and some of these are travelling at very high speeds.

I’d agree with that 100% Nothing “Pro-sumer” about the XDCam series. Very inflammatory comments for a Sony forum.

Would it not be more relevant to start a new thread about this on a Panasonic Forum?

[Michael Slowe] “What encoder will you be doing your Blu-Ray with and what players will there be to guarantee playing what you burn? No menus I presume though, I’m told they won’t be possible, not that I care, just want to have the movie playing!”

I’m not decided about the Blu-Ray duplication yet, I’m exploring a number of options.
