Ditto to Eric’s post. We routinely package DVD’s for our productions, and generally no more than 500 dual DVD cases. We have a 10 disc duplicating tower, and a higher end printer for printing the case insert labels, plus a Primera disc printer.
The reason I say ‘no more than 500’, is because we once did a 500 dual disc job, and afterwards swore that we never would again. Taking into account the actual costs of the materials, you can actually make $$. However, you have to understand that your time is worth money as well, and that level of packaging require automation to be profitable, and not send you straight to the funny farm. 5000 multi-disc packages, and I’ll guarantee you’ll be on the local news threatening to jump from a bridge.

Chances are your MiniDv tapes were created from a direct output of the timeline when the project was edited. The DVD is a highly compressed version of this. Re-edit with the highest quality version – the MiniDV.

We have a much more powerful system than your’s, and AVCHD footage stutters so badly that we routinely convert to Cineform files to edit with.

Well, nevermind, I guess.
I was able to open Wirecast with an old project file, which opened and converted to the new version, but also let me change the setting to not automatically open the last project when starting. I can now start Wirecast to a blank project, but interestingly enough, when I then open the project that was seemingly causing the crash, that project opens fine.

I have to second Ann’s recommendation. We have Premiere Elements on a laptop for travel, and light editing on the road. When we get back to our suite, the PE project is easily imported directly into Premiere.

Can PowerPoint export in a video format these days? Perhaps so.
I have all of the above, PowerPoint, AE and Director. Actually, I’d totally forgotten about Director. I lost touch with it when Macromedia held off on development during the Adobe purchase, then bought the upgrade when they released it. I’ve not used it since then, but it does seem like the thing to do.

If I find the media for a clip in the timeline, and rename it, I start PPro again and the clip shows as offline. So it’s still referencing the media, even without a clip for it being in the Project Window. And no, my Project pane isn’t filtered.

It just got even stranger. I went ahead and did a ‘Collect Files and Copy to New Location’. The sequences are intact with clips showing, but there are absolutely no AVI(Cineform) clips in the ‘Copied’ folder.
