So far for me no negatives, but admittedly I haven’t really pushed it yet. AVCHD media now plays smoothly at full res, however, CS6 did initially as well, but then later began to require that the playback res be lowered to 1/4 in order to play smoothly.
Media relinking is sweet now. Absolutely sweet. No more need to rename like named files in order to be able to distinguish them if they go offline. PPro tells you what folder they were last found in.
The Lumetri engine lets you apply grading LUT’s and maintain a yellow bar. We normally used MB Looks, but since that always caused a red bar, we were reluctant to use it.
Overall the program seems ‘snappier’, but again, so did CS6 initially.
Still, still, STILL no ability to save custom dissolve presets. Amazes me that this functionality is being ignored.

As I said, Camtasia will zoom into an area of focus, therefore enlarging pertinent text, and keeping it very legible. They call it SmartFocus.

If you are distributing your media to be played mainly on computers, then DVD is certainly NOT the way to go. Definitely author with typical computer screen resolutions in mind. Also, Camtasia’s zooming capabilities alleviate most problems associated with small text readability.
And yes, they still offer a free 30 day unlimited trial.

Been using Camtasia Studio for years, and it’s worked extremely well. Once you’ve gotten used to it, the workflow is nice. Not very familiar with Expression. Adobe Captivate is another product, although the price difference between Camtasia Studio and Captivate is staggering – around $600.

Prior to adding a 2nd camera, you could also consider marking timecode in the video at slide changes.
Camtasia is a beautiful program for creating the finished product.

Meant with some seriousness, and a measure of tongue-in-cheek.
I would venture to say that you are a ‘producer’. A producer assembles the assets required to make a film/video. There is no law saying that if you are assembling yourself to be those assets, that you aren’t the producer. You may also be a director, a videographer, an editor, a PA, or a scriptwriter, but at the top of that heap is the producer, so go with it. Some producers also shoot, edit and write scripts. Heck, I’ve even seen a producer carry equipment! However, no producer would ever introduce themselves as a videographer, or editor, or a grip.

Correct…AE is better if you need better matte capability. Hence my comment “Unless you have specific problems with your footage”.
While on that subject, you really should take a look at Aharon Rabinowitz’s tutorial on creating “Super Tight Junk Mattes“. It allows you to create a matte to within 25 pixels of your subject without dropping a single keyframe manually.

Please think about using the quite capable keyer – ‘Ultra Key’ in PPro, if you’re on CS6. Unless you have specific problems with your footage, you might find that you don’t even need to take it into AE. Saves LOADS of time.

Typically you edit in a timeline that matches the highest settings of what you need the final output to be, with consideration to what your footage is recorded in. If your footage is mostly SD, as yours sounds to be, then you should edit in SD, and either convert your HD footage to SD via the camera, or easier yet, simply use the HD clips from the camera and scale them down when in the timeline.
Not to offend, but you are asking some very basic questions and I think that you would benefit greatly from watching some of the training videos both here and at Adobe TV.
