I just ordered a FP33. Will that do the trick? Two of them in fact.

Hey Bill … thanks for the reply. I ended up going directly to the Panisonic for sound as planned and will sync in post. However. Do you have a suggestion for a production setup? Perhaps a 4 – 6 channel field mixer? And what else I can use to set up amd use it properly amoung 2 – 3 cameras?

I have an attenuator. Think that would help with the 5D?

I am using the log and transfer, not exactly sure if that is importing. Is there a setting that transcodes the footage when doing this? I though it came in to FCP native.

I was refering to Apple Cinema Monitors.

As it turns out … it was a cable issue. Bought a new one and the camera connected directly works great! Thanks for all of your suggestions.

I usually work in final cut and avid but the price was right so I bought a copy for home. I have an additional question. Is there a way to display a clip, select in and out points, then drop that clip into the timeline?

Good question … I sat here wondering the same thing when I read it. The simple answer is that I did not have a 4 pin to 6 pin firewire cable just 4 – 4. Also, I have ADS Pyro link that I capture through. If it all works using the ADS, why wouldn’t it when I try through Vegas?

What does that do? I am also having capture issues , I get a message telling me that MS Camera and DV device is not on.

This is a billion dollar company on a shoestring budget. Currently looking to purchase some equipment but it will be limited. I ended up using a Television to monitor the shoot. Poor I know but it was all I had.

Any suggestions for the near term?

So the scope are just a check and balance. Operating like any vectorscope monitor. OR doI have the ability to make adjustments whil looking at the scope.

Hi and thanks for responding. The footage that is causing issues is unfortunately MiniDV I will also be using DVCAM. Can you offer me any help? I don’t believe I will be shooting any analog at this company.

It is captured firewire using the Firewire basic option in Final Cut Pro. Is there a different option that I should consider?

Editing using FCP HD on a mac G5 with two, Dual Core 3.0 xeon chips and 4 GB of RAM.
