The Quick and easy way.
Go to the templates. Choose Directions, Float.HD. Delete every thing you don’t want and put your photo in the drop zone and you have the reflection.Check out my DVD Money Making Graphics & Effects for Final Cut Studio 2

Here is the Quick and Easy way
Duplicate the text. Bottom text; Libary-Live Fonts-Pro Series-Spotlight. Top text:Libary-Live Fonts-Pro Series-Nitro Hit F4 to get to the text tab, Go down to LiveFont Timing, chang Sequence to 0%. I would mess around with the Stylize Filters, like the Vectorize Color, Edge Work or Line Art.
I just ran a test by doing a color key on the color I didn’t want. Added a Matte magic to smooth it out. Duplicated the clip and deleted those two filters and then added the Edge Work to the clip on top and it looked pretty cool.

I’m saying FCP crop-feather is limited because it has a very limited range of how far it can feather the edge. I attached a picture of a color matte feathered as for as it can go with the crop-feather slider. If you type in a number beyond 100 it doesn’t make a difference. Where as Motion range goes as far as you need it to.
As for doing multiple images. As Ben said, you can feather a mask on the group…or if you want each image to have a separate masked feather because you can just copy and paste the masked feather onto every image.

I ran into that problem a few months ago. I can’t remember the work around a 100%. But I do remember taking the photo into Photo Shop and saving the .jpg as a different .jpg and that fixed the problem.
